Cindy
Pfeiff, PA-C, MPA
Cindy
Pfeiff began working in
orthopaedic surgery in 1990.
She joined Oakland Bone and
Joint Specialists in 1995 and
became the group’s first
physician assistant.
Cindy was drawn to the field of
orthopaedic medicine when she
entered college at UC Davis,
where she received her Bachelor
of Science degree in biological
sciences in 1994. During her
undergraduate years, she worked
as a medical assistant for Davis
Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.
After graduating from UC Davis,
she returned to the Bay Area and
in 1996, was hired by Dr. Roger
Mann who further inspired her
interest in orthopaedic
surgery. In 1999, she enrolled
in the physician assistant
program at Samuel Merritt
College in Oakland, CA, where
she earned her Masters degree
and national certification as a
physician assistant in 2001.
Cindy works predominantly with
Dr. Caldwell and together they
treat a variety of sports
medicine injuries to the knee
and shoulder, in addition to
performing total knee, hip and
shoulder replacements. Cindy
also assists Dr. Sara Edwards as
her practice continues to grow.
An interesting note about Cindy
is that, not only is she a PA
for this practice, she is also a
patient. Her lifelong passion
for sports, especially
basketball, has led to multiple
injuries. Her most recent ACL
tear was reconstructed by Dr.
Caldwell and she has
successfully returned to the
court. |
